2025 Fall Athlete Award Winners
THE VOTES ARE IN!!
The winners for the Moore Daily Sports Fall Athlete Awards are:
Female Winner - Madeline Dorsch with a 6-2 Committee Vote.
Madeline is a sophomore at Pinecrest, where she runs cross-country. This season, she was ranked the top runner in the state and won the NCHSAA 8A Individual title.
The runner-up was Lucia Baierwalter of Father Capodanno.
Male Winner - Henry DebRuhl, after a 4-4 committee tie, the votes went to our readers. After hundreds of votes, Henry won by less than 30 votes against Hayne Tobias of Union Pines.
Henry is a sophomore cross-country runner at Father Capodanno. He battled back from an injury last season to be a top runner on the Grunt team. He never wavered and proved himself every run.

MooreDailySports.com was created by Curtis Self to fill the gap in sports coverage around Moore County.
Curtis began his journalism career in Moore County in 2019 covering breaking news, crime, sports, government articles and more. While continuing to freelance different articles to publications around the county he decided in June of 2023 to take his love for journalism, love sports, and years of experience as a former athlete, coach, to create Moore Daily Sports. Giving athletes, coaches, fans and parents will have a dedicated sports news publication.
Our vision is to give our readers current sports news from all High Schools in the county. As Moore County continues to grow our schools both private and public are competing at the highest level, and we want to ensure the student athletes receive the recognition they deserve.
We are also dedicated in covering sports around the county outside of the school systems.
