Lance Stucky is named Falcons AD

O’Neal Welcomes Lance Stucky as Director of Athletics and Transportation Services

Southern Pines, NC: The O'Neal School is thrilled to announce the appointment of Lance Stucky as the new Director of Athletics and Transportation Services, starting July 1. Mr. Stucky brings a wealth of experience and a dynamic vision to the School's athletic program, underscoring O'Neal's commitment to fostering excellence in sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.

Mr. Stucky joins The O'Neal School with over 14 years of experience in performance coaching and advising for Airforce Special Operations at Pope Airforce Base and 3rd Special Forces Group Airborne at Fort Liberty. Before fitness programming for the military, Stucky was a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Maine and Florida State University.

"His experience and dedication to the holistic development of student-athletes make him the perfect fit for our community. We look forward to his positive impact on our students and our athletic programs."

In his new role, Mr. Stucky will manage all aspects of O’Neal’s athletic department, including the management of sports teams, coaching staff, athletic facilities, and college recruitment. He will also oversee and schedule the transportation needs for the School including daily bus transportation to and from school, field trips, and sports contests.

Stucky holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in kinesiology from UNC Charlotte and a master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Florida.

“I am looking forward to working with the entire O'Neal community building upon an already impressive athletics program,” said Mr. Stucky. “Together, we will strive to achieve new heights and continue to create memorable experiences."

Stucky and his family have been a part of the O’Neal community for the past several years. His two children are students, his wife, Stephanie, is a part of the leadership team for the Parents Association and he recently served on the coaching staff for the varsity track and field team.

O’Neal is a part of the Sandhills Athletic Conference (SAC) competing in Division 2 of the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA). The School is a 10-time recipient of the Wells Fargo Cup, recognizing O’Neal for having the top athletics program among independent schools in the same division. To date, five student-athletes from the 40-member Class of 2024 have committed to collegiate sports programs. An independent, college preparatory school for pre-kindergarten age 3 through grade 12, The O’Neal School is dedicated to the development of academic excellence, strength of character, and physical well-being of its students.
