Carthage Pond soon to be stocked with trout
North Carolina Wildlife has announced their yearly trout stocking schedule. According to the NC Wildlife Resources Commissions Facebook page, they will stock more than 67,000 trout across the Mountain and Piedmont regions.
The trout come from Bobby N. Setzer and Armstrong state fish hatcheries. The trout will be placed in 44 small lakes and ponds. The stocking will begin November 29 and will conclude around December 21. “Our staff will stock brook, brown, and rainbow trout to provide seasonal angling opportunities to the public,” said NC Wildlife in a press release.
All fish will be 10 inches or larger, and anglers can harvest up to seven trout per day. There are no size restrictions or bait restrictions. You must have an N.C. fishing license on you while fishing in N.C.
Moore County is on the list for one pond to be stocked. Luke Marion Pond in Carthage, located at the Moore County Agriculture, will be stocked on December 6.
