The North Moore Mustangs lost a heartbreaker at home to conference rivals Northwood 5-4. “The Guys played really hard and have improved so much since our 7-2 loss to Northwood at the beginning of the season. We were so close. A point here or there and it could’ve gone either way,” said Coach little.

The Mustangs had singles wins by Caleb Cockman 6-3, 6-2, Victor Lira 7-6, (7-2), 6-2 and Cameron McCollum 6-3, 6-4. The match went into doubles tied 3-3. Luke Gibbons and Colton Freeman won their doubles match 9-7.

Victor Lira was the player of the match. “He played through cramping, wearing holes in his shoes and his socks to pull out a win on a court higher than he normally plays,” said Little.

The Mustangs will play tonight at Chatham Central.

Pinecrest

The Patriots hosted and defeated Harnett Central 6-3. Getting the single wins were: Kenan Van Scoyoc 6-0, 6-0. Jack Hage 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Corey Ingram 7-5, 6-4. Preston House 6-2, 6-1. and Mason Cromartie 6-0, 6-0.

Jack Hage and Grayson Llyod 8-2.

The Patriots will play Thursday at Union Pines.

O’Neal

The 0-3 Falcons lost to Village Christian Academy at home 8-1. The Falcons only win came in a doubles match when Noah Bass, and Chris Walters defeated their opponents 8-4.

The Falcons will host Fayetteville Christian on March 27.
