Vikings send 12 wrestlers to State

The Vikings win their 4th 3A Mideast Regional Tournament in three years on Saturday. Eastern Guilford defeated the Vikings last year in the Mideast Regionals. Eastern Guilford also defeated the Vikings this year in the NCHSAA 3A Dual Championship.

Team results from Saturday were as follows:

3. Dudley- 150.5

4. Orange- 87

Viking individual results are as follows:

Regional Champions: Finn McCafferty, 144; Dominic Blue, 165; Brock Sullivan, 175.

Runner-ups: Logan Mtichell, 132; Tripp Sullivan, 150; Houston Leeah 157; Nick Mascolino, 190;

3rd place: Nathan Maness, 106; Keaton Crawford, 120; Joe Lloyd, 126; Dantrell Williams, 215.

4th place: Evan Thompson, 138

Viking Brock Sullivan had the most pins at four and the most team points scored at 28.

Finn McCafferty, 144; Dominic Blue, 165; Brock Sullivan, 175; Logan Mtichell, 132; Tripp Sullivan, 150; Houston Leeah 157; Nick Mascolino, 190; Nathan Maness, 106; Keaton Crawford, 120; Joe Lloyd, 126; Dantrell Williams, 215; and Evan Thompson, 138 will all compete in State beginning Thursday.
