Vikings downed by Southview

Viking Basketball teams fall before the break. The Men’s team traveled to Southview Monday night for their last game before Thanksgiving break. Trent Hilburn scored 31 points, Aiden Leonard 11 points, Jaylen Kyle 9 points, and Lawson Fields 8 points. The 72-85 loss puts the Viking at 1-1 on the season.

In the Ladies game, the Vikings took a first quarter 14-10 lead, but then it was all Southview. SV held the Vikings to only 18 points in the last three quarters to win 32-48. The Lady Vikings now are 0-2 on the season, and looks to change that next week when they play three games. Monday’s leading scorer was Savannah McCaskill with 12 points followed by junior Alley Hise with 11.

Both Vikings teams have three games next week: at Montgomery Central on Tuesday, hosting Western Harnett on Wednesday and on the road at Gray’s Creek Friday.
