Vikings Christmas Clash - Vikings hold on to defeat Glenn
Vikings advance to the championship game on Saturday.
Glenn came to Cameron to looking to ruin the host team’s hopes of a championship in their first Christmas tournament. Glenn competed on a different level on Friday than how they played against North Moore on Thursday.
Fans seemed stunned at the end of the first quarter when the Vikings were trailing 17-11. The Vikings turned things around in the second quarter, going into the half with a 28-24 lead. Both teams held each other two single digits, with Glenn outscoring the Vikings only 9-8.
The final five minutes had everyone on the edge of their seats. With just over five minutes, Glenn tied the game at 39 and quickly took the lead 41-39. After back-and-forth leads, the Vikings regained the lead 49-48 with a little over a minute to go. Glenn had opportunities to regain the lead, but the Vikings defense played smart basketball.
The Vikings move on to the championship against Overhills on Saturday at 6 p.m. with a 53-48 win.
