Vikings dominate in doubles one standing in singles

The Vikings traveled to Southern Lee on Tuesday for the 3A tennis conference tournament.

In the first round of singles competition Vikings Riley Bauer was defeated by Gonzalez of Southern Lee 8-0.

Emma Chapin of Union Pines defeated Smith of Scotland 8-6.

DeCerbo of Southern Lee defeated Vikings Kenzie Kramer 8-1.

Vikings Hadley Luckie advanced by default.

Slowik of Southern Lee defeated Abby Weld of Union Pines 8-5.

In the second round of singles, Chapin defeated Southern Lee’s McLeod 8-1. Decerbo of Southern Lee defeated Luckie 8-1.

The Semi-finals pairings scheduled for later today are as follows:

Gonzalez (SL) vs. Chapin (UP)

Decerbo (SL) vs. Hickman (SL)

In the doubles competition, Lucy McPherson and Bella Edwards from Union Pines were the number one seed. Teammates Madelyn Ragsdale and Kinsley Creel were the second seed.

In the first round, McPherson-Edwards defeated Collins-McLeod of Southern Lee 8-0.

Lynn Yoxtheimer-Ceilidh Clendenin of Union Pines defeated Zofia Pogorzelski-Franka Muellea of Southern Lee 8-0.

Madelyn Ragsdale-Kinsley Creel defeated Scotlands Kayleigh Leviner-Shay Ward 8-0.

In the semi-finals, McPherson-Edwards (UP) defeated Burrus-Petrarca (SL) 8-1.

Yoxtheimer-Clendenin (UP) defeated Ragsdale-Creel (UP) 8-4

Finals pairing scheduled for later today will be McPherson-Edwards (UP) vs. Yoxtheimer-Clendenin (UP).
