Vikings dual team advances to the second round

On Wednesday afternoon the Vikings Dual team hosted Franklinton in the first round of the NCHSAA 3A State Dual Tournament.

The Vikings won 5-4 with the following results:

Singles

1 Britt Williams (Franklinton) defeated Lane McPherson (Union Pines) 6-4, 6-4

2 Nic Henry (Franklinton) defeated Joey Tortora (Union Pines) 6-4, 6-4

3 Grant Hedrick (Franklinton) defeated Tucker Lloyd (Union Pines) 6-4, 6-1

4 Jace McPherson (Union Pines) defeated Maddox Gilieland (Franklinton) 6-0, 6-2

5 Cam Deibel (Union Pines) defeated Lleyton Perry (Franklinton) 6-2, 6-4

6 Dominic Roett (Union Pines) defeated Kendall Justice (Franklinton) 6-2, 6-0

Doubles

1 L. McPherson-Tortora (Uunion Pines) defeated Henry-Hedrick (Franklinton) 8-4

2 Williams-Justic (Franklinton) defeated Lloyd-J. McPherson (Union Pines) 9-7

3 Deibel-Roett (Union Pines) defeated Gilieland-Perry (Franklinton) 8-2

The Vikings will travel to face #7 Cape Fear on Monday.
