“Grunt athletes worked hard in the offseason and trained hard between Meets. Their school records and personal records are the results of their hard work and grit. I’m equally proud of their teamwork and the joy that they brought to the field every day. I’m also grateful for the coaches in the area who are welcoming and encouraging of our program,” said coach Joshe Raetz.
Freshman Katie Ferrelli, PR’d last night in Shot, 100M, and as 4 X 100M, “I signed up to be the Manager of Track. Over the season, I trained on different events. It was hard, but I learned to enjoy it and even competed well. I surprised myself and appreciated the encouragement of my coach, teammates, and competitors,” said Ferrelli.
“I started out the Meet with a poor performance in the High Jump. After resetting, I competed well in the Triple Jump and the 4 X 100M Relay. We train on resiliency at Capodanno and this helped me tonight to set two school records,” said Julie Attar.
“A personal goal this year was to improve my 100M. Each week, I worked on aspects of this event. Last night, I was proud to reach a Personal Record and set a new Grunt record. It paid off to set goals, trust my training, and compete with the best in Moore County,” said Braeden Hudson.
