Grunts finish strong in first track and field event.

Third year of Track and Field began on Thursday afternoon at Jordan Mathews. The Grunts have been training this off season that helped secure several Grunts personal records.

“the Grunts showed up and competed in big ways tonight. This is a direct result of their strength work in the offseason as well as leadership from the upperclassmen and experience of the returning athletes. It was an appropriate way to end a day of a leap year,” said Head Coach Joshe Raetz.

Last year the Grunts added high jumping and hurdling to their lineup and this year they added discus throwing. All throwers established respectable first throws.

“This was a fun meet with lots of good competition. Our team worked hard tonight and I’m proud of our efforts. We trusted our training and each other. It was fun,” said Gemma Farris.

“The hosting coaches managed this early meet with ease and led an exciting kickoff to Track & Field 2024,” said Father Capodanno, a press release.
