Viking Christmas Clash - Mustangs win second game

Mustangs win big in physical game.

The Mustangs second day at the Vikings Christmas Clash was different from their first. Thursday night, on opening day, the Mustangs suffered from turnover woes in their 62-51 loss to Glenn, which put them in the consolation bracket.

The first game of the second day, Southern Alamance, upset Bonnie Cone 67-64.

In the second game, North Moore played winless Montgomery Central. The first half was some of the Mustangs best basketball. “Our execution offensively was a little better,” said Coach Ginn. “Our game plan was to try to run on offense and get the ball inside. We had some size advantage. And then we kind of got away from it a little bit. We need to we need to get to the basket and we could get out in transition as well and get some easy ones to fall.”

The Mustangs went on to win 64-34 and improve to 3-4 on the season. They will play for fifth place Saturday at 2 p.m. against 1-9 Southern Alamance.
