Volleyball conference tournaments in the books

Volleyball teams complete conference

The three Moore County volleyball teams completed their conference tournaments this week and now wait for NCHSAA brackets to be released this weekend for the state tournaments.

North Moore played Jordan-Matthews on Monday for the first round and won 3-1. In the second round, the Mustangs defeated Chatham Central 3-1. In the finals, they hosted Seaforth. This was the third meeting for the top two teams in the conference this season for the championship. Like the previous two meetings, Seaforth defeated the Mustangs, given them their third loss of the season 3-0.

The Mustangs finish the season 20-3 overall and 12-3 in the conference for the 1A/2A Mid-Carolina runner ups. The ladies are 155th in North Carolina and 7th in the 1A East, which will certainly give them a home game in the opening round of the 1A NCHSAA tournament next week.

The Vikings won the first round on Monday against Richmond 3-0. They lost in the second round on the road at Scotland 0-3. The ladies finish third in the 3A/4A Sandhills Athletic Conference with an overall record of 14-8 and 7-5 in conference play. Union Pines will go into the playoffs ranked 124th in N.C. and 12th in the 3A East.

Madelyn Perkins: 23 assists, 2 kills, 2 service points

Ellie Chapin:  13 digs, 4 service points, 8 kills

Kira Daberkow: 13 kills

Alley Hise: 23 assists, 3 service points

Madi Adair: 12 kills, 2 blocks, 5 digs

Avery Smallwood: 2 kills, 2 blocks

Savannah McCaskill: 8 kills, 2 blocks

Claire Weld: 13 service points

Katie Burley: 10 service points, 4 aces

Pinecrest Patriots 3A/4A SAC Semi-finals



The Patriots won their 6th consecutive regular season title and finished conference play undefeated. With a first-round bye, the Patriots hosted and defeated Hoke on Tuesday night 1-3. They hosted second ranked Scotland for the championship. The lady Patriots won in three sets.

The ladies finished 19-8 overall and 14-0 in conference play. The ladies are positioned as the 54th ranked team in N.C. and 13th in the 4A East. They will host the first round of the NCHSAA 1st round on Tuesday.

Brooke Emore with 37 kills, 26 digs, 9 service points, and 5 aces. 

Olivia Rosy with 29 digs. 

Julia Pate with 19 kills and 11 digs. 

Hailey Gibbons with 23 digs, 21 service points, and 7 aces. 

Emma Clark with 14 kills. 

Jase Fink with 8 service points and 12 digs. 

Emily Regtuyt with 13 kills. 

Taylor Miller with 13 service points, 6 digs, 5 kills, and 8 blocks. 

Callie Garrison with 22 assists. 

Kianna Hall-Wickham with 18 service points, 5 digs, and 4 aces.
