Moore County Kick-off Classic —Pinecrest

The host team of Friday’s night Moore County Kick-off Classic showed why they have high expectations. The hard-hitting Patriots took on Willow Springs in the third game of the night Friday night. The Patriots put up 27 points in the two quarter game while Willow Springs only managed to score one touchdown against a tough defense.

Pinecrest showed that they can run, throw and defend. The expectations are high this season, with some polls having them go undefeated through the regular season. “We executed very well. I thought both quarterbacks went in and did a good job, both running backs did a good job. Definitely some things to build on,” said coach Eddins.

The hard-hitting defense showed no mercy during the scrimmage. They looked as if they were playing a do or die game. “Defense looked good. They looked like what they look like against us in practice. I’m tired of going against them. They're aggressive. They fly to the football. I was proud of the defense tonight,” said Eddins.

The Patriots open their season home Friday against Knightdale. Even though everyone expects the Patriots to go far, they are focusing on one game at a time.
