NCHSAA Football Playoff Brackets are out

NCHSAA has released the 2023 football playoff brackets. North Moore and Pinecrest are both in with home field advantage. Union Pines missed the cut.

The Mustangs regular season ended with a win and conference title Friday. The Mustangs defeated Chatham Central 42-8, and ended with an 8-2 record. The #6 Mustangs will host #27 Chatham Central in the first round on Friday night. The Mustangs will have at least two home games as long as they remain in the playoffs.

The Pinecrest Patriots landed a four seed and will host multiple games as long as they remain in the playoffs. The Patriots ended their perfect regular season with a 60-3 win over Union Pines on Friday. The Patriots won the conference title. #29 ranked South Garner will come to Pinecrest for round one this coming Friday. The 10-0 Patriots look to make a historical deep run in this year’s NCHSAA 4A Playoffs.

All contests will be hosted by the higher seed until the State Championships which will be held at Kenan Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Carter Finley Stadium at North Carolina State University. The schedule is as follows.

  • 1st Round Playoffs: November 3, 2023

  • 2nd Round Playoffs: November 10, 2023

  • 3rd Round Playoffs: November 17, 2023

  • 4th Round Playoffs: November 24, 2023

  • Regionals: December 1, 2023

  • State Championships - Day 1: December 8, 2023

  • State Championships - Day 2: December 9, 2023
