Patriots begin second half of season next week

The Patriots are entering the second half of the season Monday with a overall record of 7-4 and 1-2 in SAC play. With 10 games left, the Patriots sit in 6th place in conference play. The guys are 5-3 at home and 2-1 on the road. The offense has scored 649 while the defense has allowed 653 points in the first half of the season.

The first six games of the season, Elijah Melton, was leading the team in scoring with 76 points and averaging 12.7 points per game.

The Patriots will play at Sandhills Community College in the MLK Day 2024 Highschool Jamboree. The Patriots will be playing Apex Friendship Academy at 3 p.m.

Southern Lee - 12-1 (3-1)

Union Pines - 9-4 (1-1)

Scotland - 5-8 (1-2)

Lee County - 5-8 (1-2)

Pinecrest -7-4 (1-2)

Hoke - 9-6 (1-3)

The Lady Patriots started the season off with six straight losses. They have sense been able to get four wins on their record. 4-8 overall and 2-1 in conference play, they are sitting in 3rd place in the conference.

The ladies have scored 532 points while their defense has allowed 637. The team has been led by Zanodiya Mcnair, Aniya McGregor, and Ava Dapenbrock. Mcnair has scored 140 points averaging 14 points per game and 72% from the free throw line. McGregor has 20 assists, 22 steals averaging 2.2 steals per game. Dapenbrock has 58 rebounds with an average of 5.8 per game.

The Lady Patriots will also play in the Sandhills MLK 2024 Jamboree. They will play Overhills at 12 p.m. The ladies lost to Overhills earlier this season 65-53.
