Viking Invitational ends big for Vikings

2024 Viking Invitational 

UP Wrestling had a big weekend full of success.  On Friday night the women's team won their tournament with the following wrestlers taking first place in their weight class: Gabby Bumgardner, Lily Blair, MacKenzie Shaver, Isla Flechsenaar, and Abby Pursley.  Addison Donathon took second place and Lella Flechsenaar was third. 

The Men's team won their Saturday tournament.  Individual Champions were Liam Myles, Joe Lloyd, Finn McCafferty, Tripp Sullivan, Brock Sullivan, and Dantrell Williams.  Placing second were Marcus Soukup, Thomas Salinas and Dominic Blue while Evan Thompsona and Max Latyshenko each claimed 3rd place.  

“We ran two tournaments at two different locations Friday night and all day Saturday.  We competed very well and had great results on the mat but this weekend was also very much about the whole Viking Wrestling family coming together and helping make these tournaemnts happen.  I’d like to give a huge public thanks to the parents for all they did,” said Coach Gray.
