Vikings win season opener

Vikings basketball had a successful night on the court Tuesday with both teams winning their first game.

Both teams were on the road at Purnell Swett to open their season.

The boy’s team won 64-45. Senior Jaylen Kyle led the Vikings with 25 points, Omari Walker had 10 points, Jaydon Harrel 9 points, and Aiden Leonard with 8 points.

They are on the road again Wednesday at Montgomery Central Thursday and will have their home opener against South Johnston on Friday.

The Lady Vikings got a big 59-17 win. Senior guard Ashanti Fox led her team with 25 points, senior Alley Hise and sophomore Gianna Maheu scored 10 points each. Junior Savannahh McCaskill had 7 rebounds.

The ladies will travel to Montgomery Central on Thursday and will host South Johnston on Friday.
