Mustangs roll past S. Davidson
After the Mustangs 18-5 road win against S. Davidson on Tuesday, the Mustangs hosted S. Davidson on Friday. The Mustangs strolled past S. Davidson with a 20-2 victory.
The Mustangs started things off with a 10-1 score at the end of the first. Every Mustang player got to bat at least once. All but two Mustangs recorded hits. Will Kennedy, Dawson Futrell, who went 4 for 5 led them. The team leader in RBIs with three was Austin Patterson, who went 3 for 4 and was walked once.
Dalton Massey, Perez, and Nate Dyer all went 2 for 3 and were all walked once.
The team collectively went 22 for 35, walked four batters, and only had five strikeouts. The team also recorded 17 RBIs.
The Mustangs have now scored 50 runs in just four games, only giving up 13.
Four pitchers took the mound for the Mustangs for five innings. Austin Patterson pitched one inning and had one strikeout and one walk. Futrell recorded the win, pitching two innings, giving up two runs and recording four strikeouts and one walk. Perez pitched one inning and had two strikeouts and two walks. The only hit for S. Davidson came from a pitch by Walter in his one inning. He also threw one strikeout.
The Mustangs will be on the road against Southeast Alamance for a conference game at 6 p.m. They will be back at home for a cross-county game against the O’Neal School at 6 p.m.
