Mustangs, Vikings advance to 2nd round, while Patriots upset at home

The North Moore Lady Mustangs will continue onto round two of the NCHSAA 1A Championship Playoffs. The 7th ranked Mustangs defeated River Mill on Saturday at home, with the following scores: 25-11, 25-12, 25-23.

The 16-8 7th ranked Mustangs will travel to 17-10 8th ranked Neuse Charter on Tuesday for round two.

The Union Pines Lady Mustangs will advance to the second round of the NCHSAA 3A Championship Tournament. The 7th ranked Vikings defeated 26th ranked Southern Wayne 3-0. The Scores were: 25-16, 25-11, 25-12.

The 19-6 7th Vikings will host 13-8 22 ranked Western Alamance on Tuesday for the second round.

The Pinecrest Lady 7th ranked Patriots were upset by 26th ranked Jordan on Saturday. It went to five sets, but Jordan would win 3-2 with scores as follows: 19-25, 25-19, 25-20, 11-15, and 15-8.

The Patriots season comes to an end, but not before winning the SAC regular season and tournament titles.
