Vikings get road wins on Friday
The Union Pines Boys Basketball team continues with their hot streak, picking up a 81-53 win on the road at Grays Creek on Friday night.
The Vikings were led to victory by Trent Hilburn with 21 points, Jaylen Kyle with 19 points, Kingsley Donaldson with 12 points, and Aiden Leonard and Jackson Sales contributed 11 points.
The Vikings will be back on the road traveling to Douglas Byrd on Monday with tip off at 7:30. Then the Vikings will be back at home hosting Grays Creek on Tuesday, and will travel to South Johnston on Friday.
The Union Pines Women’s Basketball Team also defeated Gray’s Creek Friday on the road with a final score of 36-27. The box score is as follows:
UPHS -- 7 13 9 7 - 36
GCHS -- 2 6 8 11 - 27
The Vikings junior Alley Hise led the Vikings with 12 points and 6 rebounds, and junior Taryn Pekala with 9 points. Sophomore Savannah McCaskill grabbed 10 rebounds. The Lady Vikings are now 2-3 in non-conference play. The Vikings’ next game will be on the road Monday, December 4th at Douglas Byrd in Fayetteville. They will host Grays Creek on Tuesday and travel to South Johnston on Friday.
